Notes for teachers
Give students about 50 minutes, or set each section as a separate timed task of 15–17 minutes. Many distractors reflect typical C2 pitfalls: overgeneralising cautious claims, taking figurative language literally, and confusing the author's view with the views the author reports. In follow-up work, ask students to underline the hedging and evaluative expressions in each text (e.g. "freilich", "nicht von der Hand zu weisen", "wenngleich") and discuss how they shape the writer's stance.
