Notes for teachers
Use the total score as a guide: 43 or more suggests a secure C2 level, 35–42 a strong C1 learner approaching C2, and below 35 a learner who needs further C1 work. The items target typical advanced errors such as replacing Konjunktiv I with the indicative, wrong word order with double infinitives, confusing 'scheinbar' and 'anscheinend', and incorrect case after genitive verbs like 'gedenken'. For follow-up, have learners rewrite the reading text's key sentences in nominal and verbal style, or explain the idioms in their own words.
