Topics covered

Notes for teachers

Start by eliciting three quick examples on the board: a prediction (I think it will rain), an offer (I'll carry that) and a promise (I won't forget). Common mistakes include adding 'to' after will (will to go), adding -s or -ing (will goes, will going) and making negatives with 'don't'. As a follow-up, ask pairs to write a short dialogue in which one person has a problem and the other makes offers and promises.
