Notes for teachers

Start with Exercise 1 to check meaning, then move through the collocation and word-form tasks before the error correction and word-order tasks. Learners often say 'on car' instead of 'by car', 'by foot' instead of 'on foot', and 'lose the bus' instead of 'miss the bus'. They also tend to use 'travel' as a countable noun instead of 'journey' or 'trip'. As a follow-up, ask pairs to role-play buying a ticket at a station using the sentences from Exercise 5.
