Give the test without dictionaries. A score of 32/40 or more suggests a learner is secure at A2, 24–31 suggests A2 with gaps to review, and below 24 points to A1 consolidation. Typical errors targeted include the wrong auxiliary (avoir/être) and past participle agreement, passé composé versus imparfait, word order with pronouns and negation, and the meilleur/plus bon confusion. Use the questions a learner got wrong to plan targeted review, for example a lesson on pronouns y/en or on être verbs in the passé composé.
