Notes for teachers

Use Part 1 to check forms before moving on to meaning and use in Parts 2–4. The test targets typical A2 errors: using avoir instead of être, missing past participle agreement, wrong negative word order, and using the passé composé for habits or background descriptions. As a follow-up, ask learners to write a short paragraph about a childhood holiday. They should use the imparfait for the background and the passé composé for a single surprising event.
