Notes for teachers

Give learners about 40 minutes and no dictionary. A score of 32 or more (80%) suggests the learner is secure at A1 and ready for A2 material, while 24-31 suggests revising the weaker sections. The test targets typical beginner errors such as confusing ser, estar and hay, verb agreement mistakes, gusta versus gustan, and missing 'a' or 'que' in ir a and tener que. Use the wrong answers to plan short review activities, for example a speaking task describing a daily routine.
