Notes for teachers

Use this test after introducing present-tense conjugation, or as a diagnostic at the start of a course. It targets typical A1 errors: a missing extra -e- (er arbeitet), wrong endings after s/ß stems (du heißt), stem changes used with ihr (ihr fahrt, not ihr fährt), confusion between nicht and kein, and verb-second word order. As a follow-up, students can write five sentences about their week using at least three stem-changing verbs.
