Notes for teachers

Use this test after introducing everyday separable verbs and verb-second word order. It targets the most common A1 errors: keeping the verb and prefix together in the present tense (*Ich anrufe*), splitting the infinitive after modal verbs (*Ich muss stehe auf*), putting nicht after the prefix, and treating inseparable verbs like besuchen as separable. As a follow-up, have learners write their own daily routine with at least six separable verbs, then swap texts and check where each prefix goes.
