Notes for teachers
Give learners about 60 minutes without dictionaries. As a rough guide, 40 or more correct answers suggests a learner is secure at B2, 30–39 suggests consolidation is needed, and fewer than 30 suggests B1 material may be more suitable. The test targets typical B2 errors: word order after connectors, the double infinitive, passive forms, sinken/senken, separable verbs with zu, and fixed noun-verb collocations. Afterwards, ask learners to correct the wrong options in Parts 2 and 3 as a follow-up exercise.
