A2 OriginalWorksheet
PDFTests Originals
This worksheet practises the German perfect tense (Perfekt): forming past participles, choosing haben or sein, and putting the participle at the end of the sentence. It also covers negatives with nicht and yes/no and W-questions. It is for A2 learners who want to talk about what they did in the past.

Printable A2 German worksheet on the Perfekt: past participles, haben or sein, negatives, questions and word order, with answers.
Start by revising regular (gespielt) and irregular (gegessen) participles, then focus on verbs of movement and change of state that take sein. Common mistakes are using haben with fahren or gehen, adding ge- to verbs with be-, ver- or -ieren, and placing nicht or the participle in the wrong position. As a follow-up, ask pairs to interview each other with 'Was hast du am Wochenende gemacht?' and report back in the Perfekt.
