Notes for teachers

Start by eliciting the forms of ser and estar and writing two columns on the board: ser (who/what, origin, job, description) and estar (where, how you feel, temporary state). A common mistake is using estar for jobs or origin (*estoy de Brasil*) and ser for location (*es cerca*). Learners also often forget the written accents on está, estás, están and estáis. As a follow-up, ask learners to write five sentences about themselves and a friend: name, origin, job, where they are now and how they feel today.
