Allow about 60 minutes without dictionaries, then score one point per correct answer. As a rough guide, 40 or more suggests a secure C1 learner, 30-39 a learner consolidating C1, and below 30 a stronger fit for B2. The distractors target persistent advanced errors: indicative after expressions that require the subjunctive, 'tendría' in si-clauses, loísmo, dequeísmo, plural 'habían', false friends and the adjectival gerund. For follow-up, ask learners to rewrite each incorrect option correctly and explain the rule behind it.
