Notes for teachers

Start with real objects in the classroom: hold a pen (this), point to the door (that), and do the same with plurals. Typical mistakes are using 'this' with plural nouns ('this books'), forgetting to change the verb ('these is'), and forgetting the plural -s on the noun. As a follow-up, learners walk around the room and ask each other 'Is this your…?' or 'Are those your…?' about objects.
