Notes for teachers
Use this test after a unit on idiomatic French or as a diagnostic for C1 candidates. Distractors target typical errors: literal readings, wrong key words in fixed expressions (bouche ouverte instead of bouche bée, jambe instead of cuisse de Jupiter) and confusion between expressions built on the same word (casser sa pipe, casser les pieds, casser la croûte). As follow-up, ask learners to write a short anecdote using five of the expressions, or to find English equivalents and discuss where the imagery differs.
