Start by having learners talk about their own pets, family and things. Then go through the exercises in order, from controlled to freer practice. Typical mistakes are 'She have got', 'I has got', putting got in the wrong place in questions (Have got you…?) and answering 'Yes, I have got.' As a follow-up, learners interview a partner with five Have you got…? questions and report back with he/she has got / hasn't got.
