Notes for teachers

Start by drawing a two-column table (subject / object) on the board and eliciting the pronouns before learners begin. Typical mistakes are using object pronouns as subjects (Me am…, Us don't…) and using 'they' after a verb or preposition instead of 'them'. Learners also often use 'him' or 'her' for things instead of 'it'. As a follow-up, ask learners to write five sentences about their family and friends using both a subject and an object pronoun in each.
