Allow about 50 minutes and do not allow dictionaries. As a rough guide, 40 or more correct answers suggests the learner is secure at B1, and 30–39 suggests consolidation is needed before moving on. The test targets typical errors such as the preterite/imperfect contrast, indicative instead of subjunctive after verbs of wish or doubt, 'si + conditional', and por/para. Review incorrect answers in class and ask learners to write their own sentences using the structures they missed.
