Start by acting out the prepositions or drawing simple arrows on the board before learners do Exercise 1. Common mistakes include adding 'of' after across or into, saying 'go to home', and using 'arrive to' instead of 'arrive at'. Learners also often mix up across (from one side to the other of a flat surface) and through (inside something, such as a tunnel or forest). As a follow-up, ask pairs to give each other directions from the classroom to another place in the school using at least five prepositions of movement.
