Notes for teachers
Give learners about 50 minutes without dictionaries; a score of 38/50 or more suggests a secure B1 level, while 28-37 indicates B1 is still being consolidated. The test targets common errors such as wrong auxiliaries and agreement, confusion between y/en and lui/leur, indicative versus subjunctive, 'si' + conditional, and tense shifts in reported speech. Use the wrong answers to plan targeted revision, and ask learners to retell the reading text orally as a follow-up speaking task.
