Notes for teachers

Start by miming actions and asking 'What am I doing?' to show that the present continuous is for actions happening now. Common mistakes are leaving out am/is/are ('She reading'), using the wrong form of be, and spelling errors such as 'swiming' or 'writeing'. As a follow-up, show a busy picture and ask pairs to write five sentences about what people are and aren't doing.
