B2 French idioms worksheet: match meanings, complete expressions, conjugate verbs, correct mistakes and form related words. Printable with answers.
Start with the matching exercise to check meaning, then move on to the gap and correction tasks, which focus on the exact form of each idiom. Learners often translate English idioms word for word (e.g. confusing body parts in coûter les yeux de la tête or casser les pieds) or forget the auxiliary être with tomber. As a follow-up, ask pairs to write a short dialogue that uses at least five idioms, then act it out for the class.
