C1 French worksheet on logical connectors: cause, consequence, concession, opposition, goal and condition, with the correct mood after each connector.
Start with Exercise 3 to review the functions of the connectors, then move on to the mood and transformation tasks. Typical mistakes include using the indicative after bien que or à condition que, using the subjunctive after vu que, alors que or puisque, and using pour que when both clauses have the same subject instead of pour + infinitive. Learners also confuse grâce à (positive) with à cause de (negative). As a follow-up, ask learners to write a short argumentative paragraph using at least six different connectors from the worksheet.
