C1 French worksheet on academic and formal vocabulary: key nouns, verb–noun collocations, word formation, false friends and formal phrases.
Do Exercises 1–2 in pairs so students can discuss why a collocation sounds natural, then set Exercises 3–5 individually. Expect anglicisms such as *adresser un problème*, *relevant* and *éventuellement* (meaning 'finally'). Students also often write *pallier à* instead of transitive *pallier*. As a follow-up, ask students to write a 150-word synthesis paragraph on a topic of their choice using at least eight expressions from the worksheet.
