Notes for teachers
Start with the matching exercise to activate meaning, then move to the gap and correction tasks, which focus on the exact wording of each idiom. Learners often translate idioms literally from their own language or change a key noun (e.g. *gâteau* instead of *fromage*). They also tend to forget the reflexive pronoun in expressions like *se serrer la ceinture*. As a follow-up, ask pairs to write a short dialogue using at least five idioms from the worksheet and perform it for the class.
